Timing rules
A compact sequence protects dinner service and keeps each speaker from feeling like the sixth act in a show.
- Cap most individual speeches at 4 minutes
- Leave 20 to 30 seconds for applause and handoffs
- Schedule the full block after the main course and before dancing
- Split the sequence only when there are more than six speakers
